R&T

The following “ad hoc” groups are active for the themes listed here below:

  • Procurement and Export Directives

  • Industrial Capacities

  • Offsets

  • Security of Supply

  • Ownership

  • Logistics - ILS/ISS (Integrated Logistic Support / In Service Support)

The ILS – ISS industrial experts’ group is formed by Logistic Support Experts suggested by the associated companies. It has been created in order to consolidate industrial policy and placement positions on those  issues focused on the specific themes of its activities, with principles of interest for both the national and international areas.

The Group’s role is to support the Federation’s activities within the specific relevant issue of competence, and through the collective work together with knowledge and experience sharing, it contributes to the definition of established opinions referred to the matters analysed during the Groups’ activities.

The activities’ objective is to support and coordinate the national and international initiative in terms of logistic support, thus to offer a reference point for the Defence institutional bodies and for the European Organizations (i.e. EDA. OCCAR) or NATO. For this reason it elaborates comments to documents related to the material gathered by AIAD or available with the experts within the national or international councils to which they participate, for exams or opinions, and they provide support to the pertinent governmental or industrial function accredited in the abovementioned councils.

  • Environment

This group, now in a definition phase, is able to monitor and provide addresses that support the activities related to the “environmental” issue.

Following the introduction of the Lisbon Treaty, the European Union created a dedicated Committee program, which is also consequently dedicated to ASD (European Association for Aerospace and Defence), with the collaboration of EDA (European Agency for Defence), besides the launch of an action plan meant to concentrate the industrial position on environmental issues on a European level.

The Group intends to provide a national position by deepening the study of the following subjects:

  • exemptions for Defence within the REACH Program;

  • Recovery of the military installations and platforms at the end of the life cycle;

  • Directives on the NOx emissions.
